Chiune Sugihara

Sugihara was a Japanese diplomat working in Lithuania throughout World War II, saved over 6000 Jewish lives by unlawfully issuing travel visas out of the country.
Risking his own and his family’s life, when his consulate was being shut down and evacuating, he was still writing visas and throwing them out the window as his train was pulling out of the station.
